Below are some frequently asked questions about Breast Surgery:
Can I breastfeed if I have breast implants?
We recommend that you wait until you are finished having children before getting implants if you wish to breastfeed, but many women have had implants and have breastfed their children successfully.
Will I have to wear a bra if I have implants?
We recommend that you wear a bra if you have had large implants during augmentation surgery.
Can I have my implants removed if I decide that I don't like them or if I have problems with them?
Yes, you can have breast implants removed should you develop problems with the implants or with your breasts, or if you should change your mind.
What happens if an implant ruptures?
If a breast augmentation implant ruptures or begins leaking, you should consult Dr. Jejurikar immediately. He will be able to guide you in choosing the best treatment method. Generally, if an implant has ruptured or is leaking, it will need to be removed.
How long will I have scars from the incisions after breast surgery?
You may have visual scarring for several months after your breast surgery, although they can continue to fade over a longer period of time.
Am I too old for breast augmentation surgery?
Although the average age for breast augmentation is 30-40 years of age, older women do opt to get breast implants as well as breast lifts, and a combination of breast augmentation with breast lift surgery. If you are in good health, do not smoke and desire to have a more youthful looking appearance, you might be a good candidate.
