Brazilian Butt Lift (Liposuction and Gluteal Fat Grafting)
Are you seeking a rounder, more shapely derriere? If so, you may be an ideal candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift. The Brazilian Butt Lift is a form of buttock augmentation (gluteoplasty) surgery that avoids implants. The procedure involves the removal and relocation of fat from one part of the body to the buttocks using liposuction. It goes by many names including microfat grafting, autologous fat grafting, and the Brazilian Butt Lift, but the principles are the same – removal of fat from undesired places and using the removed fat to create round, shapely buttocks and curvaceous outer thighs. This is one of the most popular procedures in Dr. J’s practice, with patients traveling from all over the country to have this performed.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift?
Those who are in good physical health and who wish to create a more shapely buttocks are excellent candidates for this procedure. Additionally, those who are rounder or who are more Rubenesque are ideal since they have excess fat stores to donate to the procedure. The procedure is often combined with other surgical procedures, including tummy tuck, mommy makeover, or liposuction performed simply for fat reduction.
Benefits
The primary benefit of having a Brazilian Butt Lift is to make you feel more content with your body and to boost your self confidence.
The Procedure
A Brazilian Butt Lift procedure lasts between two to four hours. Initially, extensive liposuction is performed throughout the body. The most common locations include the abdomen, love handles, inner thighs, and lower back. Often times, particularly in thin patients, fat is taken from other locations as well. The fat is strained to remove excess oils and serum and reinjected through very small incisions that are made in the natural creases of the buttocks. The incisions are then closed and sterile dressings are applied.
Recovery
This procedure requires two to three weeks of recovery time, followed by several more weeks of limited activity and avoiding exercise. During the initial 10 days after surgery, Dr. Jejurikar will ask you to avoid sitting and sleeping on your buttocks.
