This woman came to Dr. Sam Jejurikar after a previous breast augmentation left her unhappy with the position of her implants. Over time, her implants had drifted low and out to the sides, a problem known as implant malposition, and she had lost the upper pole fullness that gives an augmentation its youthful shape.

Correcting a malposition is one of the more technically demanding procedures in breast surgery, because the original pocket must be rebuilt to hold the new implant exactly where it belongs. Dr. Jejurikar performed a complex breast revision that included removal of her original implants, capsulotomy and capsulorrhaphy to reshape and tighten both pockets, and placement of new Motiva SmoothSilk round silicone gel implants (400 cc). He then reinforced the repair with TIGR resorbable mesh, which acts as an internal bra, supporting the implant in its corrected position while the body gradually builds its own layer of supportive tissue.

These photos were taken six months after surgery. Her implants are now centered on the chest wall with restored upper pole fullness, symmetric cleavage, and a soft, natural shape. Individual results may vary.
