The patient is a 31 year old woman who experienced grade IV capsular contracture in her right breast and deflated left breast implant after previous breast augmentation with saline breast implants. She underwent a total capsulectomy of the right breast and bilateral breast implant removal and replacement using textured silicone "gummy bear" implants. The size chosen was 385cc. She is seen 2 months post op with a natural, symmetric result.
The patient is a 40-year-old woman, who has previously undergone breast augmentation with saline implants. The left-sided implant was ruptured, and she had significant asymmetry in breast size and inframammary fold position. She underwent removal of bilateral intact breast implants and replacement with style 20, 550 cc silicone-filled breast implants. Extensive reshaping of the right breast skin envelope was required. She is seen 3 weeks postoperatively
The patient is a 52-year-old woman who previously had undergone saline breast augmentation and now had a delated right breast implant. She wished to undergo replacement of the right-sided implant and wished placement of a large implant on the left. Dr. Jejurikar performed removal of her ruptured right saline breast implant and removal of her intact left saline breast implant. 750 cc saline implants were then placed in both sides, in accordance with the patient's wishes. She also underwent tummy tuck (not shown). She is seen six weeks postop with full, perky breasts.
This is a patient in her 50s who had undergone previous breast augmentation. Over time, her implants fell (implant malposition) and she no longer had the superior pole projection she desired. She underwent removal of her intact breast implants and underwent placement of an internal bra with Strattice mesh, which is an artificial skin substitute used commonly in breast reconstruction. She also had a breast lift and a breast augmentation with 550 cc high profile silicone gel implants. She is seen here 9 months after surgery with larger breasts with ample superior pole projection.
This is a 23 year old woman with lifelong breast asymmetry who had undergone previous breast surgery by another plastic surgeon. Her left breast was much smaller than the right and she undergone reconstruction with different-sized saline breast implants placed below the chest wall muscle. She was bothered by the enlarged right areola (pigmented tissue around the nipple) and the double bubble appearance of the breasts particularly prominent on oblique and lateral views. On the right side, Dr. Jejurikar removed her saline implant and converted it to a 234 cc silicone gel implant placed in front of the chest wall muscle; Dr. J also narrowed the diameter of the right areola. On the left side, Dr. Jejurikar removed her saline implant and converted it to 457 cc silicone gel implant placed in front of the chest wall muscle. Three months after surgery, she has a similar appearance of the areolas and has a much more symmetric appearance.
